Leave it to me to be the queen of inconsistent blogging. Hooray !
Even harder for me now because my backspace doesn't work and no working letter 'p' on my keyboard . So I have to copy and paste it, or wait for my spell check to catch it and fix it for me.
Oh ! and my numbers and symbols above all the letters don't work either >.< Thank goodness for 10 key or I wouldn't have any numbers at all. Even then, the four isn't working and I don't feel like copy and pasting that right now lol
Hope you have been well. Life has been getting weird here at my house. The boys are a few weeks away from turning 5, and I have no clue where the last 5 years have gone. They're these constantly changing little people and sometimes it is really hard to wrap my brain around all this.
Working on a lot of things right now. Christmas knitting/crocheting/sewing is in full swing, and I am determined to get things done early this year. Have product for my Etsy shop that needs to be listed - stitch markers -Yay!
Speaking of my Etsy shop, several months ago - I started making Blythe doll clothes. Now, I am by no means a professional seamstress - in fact, I've only been sewing for the last four years or so. I think the clothes are pretty cute. Need to list a new dress soon :D Check them out here if you get a chance [even if you aren't a doll person, chances are you know someone who is ;) ]
Well, I must be heading off. Lots of crafting to do. Time to make the coffee.

Calgon, Take Me Away
As much as I love knitting, crocheting, sewing, making stitch markers, I have to put it on hiatus -or at least, pull back the reigns.
There are things going on at home, details I won't bore you with. I think with my obsession with creating things with my hands, Other areas of my life have suffered because of it. This won't be easy for me.Unfortunately, It even involves shutting down my Etsy shop [Ok - notsomuch shutting it down, Just putting it on Vacation for an unknown period of time]
This really makes me sad. Very sad, in fact. However, I haven't found the balance between my personal life and my creative life. When one thrives, the other one suffers. It's heartbreaking, really - but sadly, it's my creative side that needs to be turned off for awhile.
So, Spread the word around that my shop will be on Vacation starting Monday, April 11, and that as of right now - everything in the shop has been marked down 25%.

Amor Esquelético y El Corazón
January's Pillow
Done! Finished! FIN!
And a day early, I might add.
I've gotta say, I'm pretty happy with the way it came out (even though it was so extremely far off of what I had originally intended) I think the turning point was when I picked the fabric. It played a crucial role in the overall finished product.
STOP!...Picture Time !
Front Panel [knit with crocheted vines]
Heavily pinned skeletons. What can I say, I like pins!
Sewing the Skeleton couple to their final resting place
Busy at work on the sewing machine
Front
Back [ I am completely in love with this fabric ] Buying more & they will become curtains
El Corazón (The Heart)
I know Dia De Los Muertos [ Day of the Dead] is celebrated on November 2nd, but if you know anything about me, I love skulls, skeletons and bright colors year round!
Off to work on February's pillow.
Oh yeah! Keep checking back. I think in March [possibly April] I'm going to be giving away one of my pillows in a blog giveaway. Currently working out all the little details.
Until next time, Stay Warm - Stay Safe and Happy Crafting!!

Arr two dee two + a big thank you = Gratuity
My friend Leslie sent me a messge a some weeks ago, asking if there was a way I could find a pattern for an R2D2 beanie. Her boyfriend' birthday was coming up, and she wanted to get him something really cool. Knowing that I am an frequent knitter and crocheter, she asked for my help. She crochets, but she's been working on this MONSTER of a blanket the last few years, and has yet to work on anything else. I don't blame her. This blanket gives new meaning to the word "huge"
Any-hoo, Did some searching and I found this: R2D2 beanie from Carrissa Knits. Totally blown away, since I've only been knitting for around a year. Decided to suck it up, and give it a try. I've only worked with circular needles once before, and had just tackled the task of trying to use double pointed needles. Even though I was so scared this would come out looking crap, I embraced the fact that I would have to push myself to get this done.
I practiced doing duplicate stitch on some beanies I made for family members, since that was another thing the pattern asked.
Scary as it was, I finished it. Ended up making most if through a Star Wars marathon. Really, 75% of it was made watching Return of the Jedi because the boys liked it, and didn't mind that it was on. :D

Out of the few friends I have that knit/crochet, Leslie is one of two people that have inspired me to push my craft to a place I never imagined I would be. I mean, I learned how to knit/crochet from a book less than 3 years ago for heaven's sake. LOL Totally blows my mind every time I think about it.
Big HUGE Thank You's to Jessica and Leslie
....For constantly pushing me to be a better artist.
Love you bunches
♥
